Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to introduce you to South Bay Quest Girls Softball! It's a well-known fact that more girls are participating in a wider array of physical activities and sports than ever before in American History. Girls who participate in sports are 92% less likely to get involved with drugs, 80% less likely to have an unwanted pregnancy and three times more likely to graduate from high school. Sports teach girls teamwork and helps them to develop leadership skills. We are delighted to have a wonderful group of girls who have chosen to dedicate themselves to working hard to and who are eager to succeed!

South Bay Quest is a girls fastpitch softball team based out of Gardena, California. South Bay Quest is the vision of founder and head coach Jim Belch who, in 2002, created the organization to fulfill a three-fold mission:

1. To develop young female softball talent in underserved communities.

2. To encourage and empower young women to seek higher education.

3. To raise financial support for the young women's pursuit of higher education.

Jim Belch, a long time fastpitch softball pitcher, himself, believes in developing young talent and spends endless hours teaching and training players without charging one cent for his expertise. Our coaching staff Jim Belch and Dave Schlothauer with over 34 years of experience coaching girls softball, are committed to working closely to help develop the team's skills and positive sportsmanship.

Quest is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Naturally, this community based softball team requires the support of families and friends, other fans, and the local businesses, as it takes many volunteers, supporters, and money to run a competitive and successful team. As you may already know, money to support team sports is very limited. Our team is in need of equipment, uniforms and support for travel expenses. Many of the girls on our team come from low-income backgrounds and are unable to financially contribute towards the cost of any of these items.
